Editing the envelope printing
Instructions for using the Pre-Paid Envelope design tool
Start by selecting a suitable size pre-paid envelope and the related details in the Products section. Under the Printing heading, select “I will enter the materials myself” and add the product to the shopping cart.
When you select the function “Envelope printing” in the shopping cart under the product line, you go to the envelope design section and the design tool opens.
You can easily design the pre-paid envelope in the web service in three ways, as described below.
- By uploading the ready-to-print PDF materials
- By adding a logo or image and the sender’s information to the pre-paid envelope in the editing view.
- By leaving the envelope white, in which case only Posti’s payment indications and delivery markings will be printed on it.
The finishing stage is always the same, regardless of which design method you choose.
Start designing
Select the pre-paid envelope you want and select “I will enter the materials myself”. Then go to the shopping cart and select “Envelope printing” under the product. The selection opens the editing view of the design tool.
Option 1: Ready PDF materials
Download the ready-to-print PDF files from your own computer to the front and back of the envelope by selecting “Upload PDF to the front of the envelope” from the function list on the left side of the page or by clicking the add icon in the middle of the envelope template. An icon appears in the left-hand side menu. Click on it to open the “Upload image” function. Use the “Upload image” function to upload the desired file from your computer to the service.
After uploading the image, the “Crop image” view opens, where you can crop and zoom the selected image if you wish. We recommend that you use a PDF file that has been carefully designed according to the envelope template, as changing the size of the image at this stage may affect the image and thus the print quality.
At the bottom of the view, you can also see feedback on whether the image resolution is sufficient to produce high-quality printing. When you are satisfied with the image formatting, click the “Finish Cropping” button or cancel the action clicking the X button in the top corner of the view. If you want to change your image selection later, use the “Replace image” function at the top to change or replace the selected image.
Please note: the gray area in the editing view of the envelope template shows the area for which printing is possible. The gray color is not printed on the finished envelope.
You can add prints on the back by clicking the “Page 1 / 2” button at the bottom of the view and selecting page 2 from the menu that appears below it. Please note that printing on the back of the envelope is only possible on the flap of the envelope, not the entire back of the envelope.
Option 2: Adding a logo or image and the sender's information
Download the logo file from your computer to the front and back of the envelope by selecting “Logo to the front of the envelope” from the function list on the left side of the page or by clicking the smaller add icon in the top corner of the envelope template.
In addition to adding an image, you can add a free-form short text in the open text field in the “Sender’s contact information” field on the left side of the page. The text can hold a maximum of four lines, it can be resized and its color can be black or white.
The logo and text can be moved and scaled in the gray area of the envelope template with certain restrictions. The gray area in the editing view shows the area for which printing is possible.
Option 3: Order without customization
You can also order the envelope without printing, in which case only Posti’s payment indications and delivery markings will be printed on your envelopes. As a result, you will receive white pre-paid envelopes with Posti’s payment indications and delivery markings. In this situation, you only need to click the “Finished Editing” button at the top of the editing view.
Digital draft and approval
When you are satisfied with the design view, select “Finished editing” to open the “Preview” view, where you can see a digital draft of your envelope. The view displays a preview of the design result with Posti’s payment indications and delivery markings. If you wish, you can download the draft in PDF format by selecting “Download preview” at the bottom left. Please note that the envelope-specific tracking code is not visible in the PDF draft.
To confirm that you are satisfied with the appearance of your envelope and accept the file selections you have made, please tick “I accept the conditions”. Click the “Continue” button to save your selections. If you are not satisfied and want to cancel the action, click the X icon at the top of the view. However, please note that your work will not be saved in this case.
